VIDEO: Dedication Of Larche Memorial Park

It was a moving memorial at a West Side park for Constable Doug Larche, a one-time Saint Johner and RCMP officer who was killed along with two of his colleagues in Moncton this past June.

Chief Superintendent with the RCMP Wayne Gallant tells CHSJ News a park was a fitting tribute for someone like Larche, who loved to be outdoors playing with his three daughters.

His friend and fellow Mountie Christy Elliot agrees that Larche would have been touched, and said the family continues to try to wrap their heads around the loss.

Larche’s family, as well as that of fallen officer Dave Ross, were in attendance and laid red roses on the monument. Memorial Park is on Hilcrest Drive off Manawoganish Road. The memorial includes a monument and benches adjacent to a playground for the kids.
