The court has told the Victoria Park golfer to hang up his clubs.
Michael Edward Delahunt, 31, has been placed on a one-year conditional sentence with four months house arrest followed by one year of probation.
Delahunt earlier pleaded guilty to assaulting Frederick Andrew Leidemer and also pleaded guilty to making death threats to Michael Joseph Walsh.
Delahunt has been ordered to stay away from Victoria Park with golf clubs or golf balls and if he violates the ban he could go to jail.
He was facing other charges before the court but they have been resolved.
