About 540 graduates from NBCC Moncton have headed out into the work world today.
Their graduation ceremonies were held this afternoon at the Moncton Coliseum.
Jace Patriquin was this year’s Valedictorian. He graduated from the Truck and Transport Service Technician program…and he has this advice for today’s graduates, “Whether it is staying here and pursuing work, or if it’s travelling and pursuing work, go anywhere. The world is a big place, definitely get out and spread your roots while you can.”
For those who just graduated high school and are considering a college program, he recommends trying a trade, “If you’re better at learning, hands on and seeing something be done, trades are not something to be taken lightly. We make good money for what we do, and trades are often overlooked.”
Patriquin says he is fortunate that he picked a trade that will allow him to stay in Greater Moncton. He says there are many opportunities, now that he is looking for work.
