UPDATED: Fredericton Police Arrest Second Man In Armed Robbery Of Taxi Driver

A second suspect has been nabbed by police in connection with a robbery in the Capital City on Tuesday.

Officers responded just before 7:15am on Tuesday to the area of Brookside and Ring Road for reports of a robbery. Fredericton police say two men confronted a taxi driver with a weapon and then made off with some cash on foot. 23-year-old Kiefer Joel Dedam of Burnt Church has already been charged with robbery and police have arrested 20-year-old Steven Perley from Tobique – he appeared in court today to face a charge of robbery and other weapons related offences.

Police say that a vehicle was searched before the man was arrested and a weapon believed to have been involved in the robbery was found.

Police don’t believe there are any other suspects relating to this case.
