UPDATE: Two Killed, Two Injured In Highway 15 Crash

A two vehicle crash on Highway 15 has claimed two lives near Shemogue, east of Cap-Pele.

The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon shortly before 4 o’clock when RCMP say an SUV with four people was heading westbound and trying to pass when it collided with another SUV making a left turn into a private driveway.

Police say two men in the passing vehicle died at the scene – an 82-year-old from Kedgwick River and an 82-year-old from Ontario.

Two women who were also passengers in that vehicle, ages 69 and 80 and both from Kedgwick, are in hospital in critical condition.

A man and a woman in their thirties from Moncton, who were in the vehicle that was hit, were treated at the scene.

Highway 15 was closed for several hours yesterday and an RCMP collision reconstructionist was brought in to help in the investigation.
