Codiac RCMP have now released more details after a man’s body was found inside an East end home during a fire.
The death of the man is considered suspicious and the investigation continues.
Moncton Fire made the discovery as they were extinguishing the blaze at 96 Sumac Street at around 4:30 this morning.
There’s no word yet on how the first started, but Platoon Chief Dennis Dollemont says it was definitely a content fire that appears to have started inside the house.
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Baylee Wylie.
“Police have enough evidence to treat the investigation as a homicide,” said Sgt. André Pepin of the Codiac Regional RCMP. “The investigation is now focusing on the circumstances surrounding his death.”
The investigation is continuing.
