Posts on social media this morning are questioning whether schools are open or not today across the region.
The posts are about rumoured threats were allegedly made against several schools yesterday.
Anglophone East School District says they were made aware and RCMP were notified. RCMP have investigated and concluded this is a low level threat. Schools are open as usual.
An email was also issued by Francophone South School District this morning stating, “Schools are open today, contrary to rumors circulating on social media.
A news release will be issued by the RCMP in connection with a publication that circulated yesterday on Instagram and has caused excitement among parents and students.”
Both school districts say they take the safety of the students very seriously.
Many parents commented on social media that they would be keeping their kids home today as a precaution.
