UPDATE: RCMP identify suspect in alleged Sackville assault

Sackville RCMP say they have identified the man who allegedly assaulted someone with a weapon.

Police got a call at 3:45 p.m. Sunday about a person who had assaulted another inside a home on Albion Street.

The suspect ran before police arrived, according to a news release from the RCMP.

Investigators asked for help from the public to identify the suspect later that same day.

In an update on Tuesday, RCMP said the suspect had been identified and thanked the public for their help.

Investigators said they believe this was an isolated incident, so they did not issue an emergency alert.
