University Students Create Website To Help With Hospital Wait Times

Need to go to the emergency room at your local hospital, but hate the wait times? The creators of a new website, are hoping they can help.

Queue is a way for low priority cases to determine how long their wait will be.

When it is time for treatment, patients will be notified via phone call or text message to return for treatment.

Chief Operating Officer Ishtar Al-Tahir says the website is online currently but is only in the prototype stage, “We haven’t actually launched anything just yet. We are still communicating with the health care authorities and trying to develop the business plan, so that we can launch in the near future.”

It is currently still in the testing stages, but Chief Communications Officer Josh Sallos says they are working closely with the health authorities in the province, “Ultimately, we are looking to serve the entirety of new Brunswick, but during our initial launch, it will be a soft launch in a specific region. We are still discussing with the health authorities where that launch will be.”

The four founders say the idea came from personal experience at hospital wait rooms.

They’ve received a great deal of input and will be using that to help improve the site.

Sallos says, “It has been a mixture of some gratitude, but also, a lot of this is a great idea, but we want to give some input, which is exactly what we were looking for. We’re very excited about that.”

There’s no word yet on when the website will go live for use.
