The United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick has raised $2.4 million in its 2017 campaign which is its largest to date.
However, the organization fell just shy of its goal of $2.5 million.
Donations came from over 160 workplaces and more than 6,000 individuals to help support charities and essential agencies in the region.
RBC and its employees were the top corporate sector donor while the Department of Fisheries and Oceans had the top spot in the public sector.
With an increase in population, the community need continues to grow.
The United Way adds it has been unable to fund 30 percent of funding requests in the last five years.
