The union representing health care workers is worried with Health Minister Victor Boudreau’s assertion that everything is on the table when it comes to finding 400 million dollars in cuts.
Norma Robinson is President of local 1252 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. She says the new provincial government is just following the same script as the previous Alward Government with cuts that began in 2011.
There was a report last week that as many as 9 smaller hospitals could be closed in the province. Robinson warns that would increase wait times at the larger hospitals in Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton even longer than they are now.
