New Brunswick’s economy added 1,800 jobs in May as the province’s unemployment rate fell to 7.3 per cent from 8.0 per cent in April.
Statistics Canada says the province added 2,800 full-time jobs and lost 1,000 part-time positions in May.
In May of last year, New Brunswick’s unemployment rate was at 8.2 per cent.
Nationally, the economy lost 7,500 jobs last month but the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 5.8 per cent.
