UNB Saint John Student Pleads Not Guilty In Campus Stabbing

A UNB Saint John student pleading not guilty to stabbing a fellow student at the university library back in June.

The plea being made in provincial court through a lawyer as Ali Ahmed Alabbas left the country after being charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The victim’s injuries in the stabbing weren’t life threatening though he was rushed to hospital by ambulance. Police say the two know each other and that this wasn’t a random act of violence.

A full day is being set aside for a trial which will take place on August 10 starting at 9:30am.
