UNB Prof Says Having Green Party Leader In Legislature “Will Be Good For Democracy”

What does Green Party Leader David Coon’s historic win in Fredericton South on election night mean for the future of politics in New Brunswick?

Political science professor at the University of New Brunswick Donald Wright believes as he takes up his seat in the Legislature, Coon will prove be a tough critic of the government much like Elizabeth Weir of the NDP. Wright believes it will not only be good for the Green Party in the province, it will also be good for democracy.

In a recent new poll, we asked if you believe Coon will have an impact on the provincial legislature and 68-percent of you said no.
