UdeM Holds One Of 100 Environmental Debates Across Canada

An environmental debate will be held at the Universite de Moncton Thursday evening.

The event is part of a series of 100 debates on the environment that will take place across Canada.

Antoine Zboralski is with Symbiose, a student association for social justice and the environment at U de M which is organizing the debate.

“It’s really a good place for people to ask the candidates about this critical issue,” he says.

A number of candidates for the Greater Moncton Area are expected to attend, including Green party candidate Claire Kelly.

“When I decided to run for this election, two provinces were flooding and one was on fire. It’s happening, whether we like it or not and we need to act,” says Kelly.

The discussion takes place from 7pm to 9pm at U de M’s Jaqueline-Bouchard Pavilion and all residents are welcome.
