Two-Week School Closure Begins In N.B.

Public schools across New Brunswick are closed Monday — as they will be for the next two weeks.

The province ordered the two-week closure late Friday to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

Officials said the closure will be reassessed on an ongoing basis.

The province has not yet said how the lost class time will be made up.

Other provinces have taken similar steps, including Ontario and Nova Scotia.

When it comes to post-secondary education, the University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University and Mount Allison University have cancelled all in-person classes for the rest of the academic year.

L’Universite de Moncton has cancelled classes for the next two weeks, while the New Brunswick Community College has suspended classes for this week.
