Two Men Suffer Severe Burns In Cap-Pele Explosion

Two men have been sent to hospital with serious injuries after an explosion in Cap-Pele over the weekend.

Emergency responders were called to a Dora Street home on Saturday afternoon where two men were found with severe burns in the home’s attached garage.

Police say a woman and young child inside the home at the time of the explosion were not hurt.

On Sunday, RCMP carried a out a search warrant at the home and seized more than 100 full canisters of butane, hundreds more empty canisters and some marijuana plants.

Police believe the garage was being used as a “butane honey oil” extraction lab to produce hash oil.

No arrests have yet been made.
