Trump makes first public appearance since assassination attempt

Donald Trump’s injured ear was bandaged as he entered the first night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

It was the former U.S. president’s first public appearance following an assassination attempt on the weekend.

A man fired at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania killing one supporter on Saturday. A bullet grazed Trump’s ear.

The 20-year-old gunman was shot dead, and his motive remains unclear.

At Monday’s convention, Trump received a loud ovation. Republicans chanted, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” and pumped their fists.

Trump is due to formally accept the party’s nomination Thursday in a speech.

He will run against Democratic President Joe Biden in the November 5th election.
