New Brunswick RCMP partnered with peace officers from the provincial Department of Justice and Public Safety to conduct traffic enforcement in Greater Moncton, resulting in 19 unsafe vehicles being towed and 129 traffic violations being issued.
The operation was conducted on Friday, October 21 and focused on unsafe vehicles as well as distracted driving and proper use of seatbelts.

During the operation, 46 vehicles were escorted to a specific site to be inspected by Motor Vehicle Inspectors, 19 of which were deemed unsafe and towed at the owner’s expense.
A total of 129 were also issued under the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act, including 32 tickets for not wearing a seatbelt and 20 tickets for using a hand-held electronic device while driving.
Additionally, two people were issued a court date for driving while suspended and one person was arrested for driving while impaired.
