This past weekend we packed up and headed to New Brunswick’s beautiful Acadian Peninsula. If you’ve got bikes, bring them! There are over 610 km of paved bike trails connecting towns all across the peninsula. It’s basically a road trip where your gas is replaced by coffee and pastries.
Speaking of food… let’s get to the important stuff.

Our first stop was Shack à Joe for their famous lobster roll. It was voted the second-best lobster roll in New Brunswick, and after one bite, I started wondering who beat them. (I’d like to speak with the judges.)

For supper, we rolled into Pinokkio Restaurant in Shippagan. Wood-fired pizza? Check. Incredible Italian food? Double check. I ordered the Carny Pizza and the Burrata Pasta with vodka sauce, and I’m still thinking about both. Zero regrets.

While cruising the bike trail through Caraquet, we made the mandatory stop at Grains de Folie, one of the area’s most popular bakeries. The pastries were amazing, but the highlight was the barista who somehow turned my face into coffee art. I finally found a picture of myself I actually liked… and then I drank it.

No visit is complete without the drive to the Miscou Island Lighthouse. The views are incredible, the beach is beautiful, and it’s one of those places that reminds you why New Brunswick is so special.

If you’re looking for a memorable dinner, Origine Maritime Cuisine is worth every bite. They create incredible dishes using fresh, local ingredients that really showcase the Acadian Peninsula.

Want to make the trip unforgettable? Stay at Terra Expérience. Between the treehouses and hobbit-style houses, it feels like you can’t decide whether you’re in a fairy tale or on vacation and honestly, that’s part of the fun.
Support local, explore New Brunswick, and don’t forget your bike… and maybe stretchy pants.
