Tractor Trailer Full Of Seafood Rolls Over In Dieppe

An overturned tractor trailer full of seafood, forced the closure of Highway 2 at Route 15 in Dieppe for several hours.

Dieppe Fire District Chief Marc Cormier says the crash happened just before 5pm last night

Firefighters were able to quickly contain a minor oil spill from the truck’s engine.

A driver and passenger were treated for minor injuries and then taken to hospital.

A reminder from the Dieppe Fire department that it is not safe for motorists to stop on the side of the highway to take photos and video of an accident scene.

Cormier says several vehicles stopped, with some crossing over two lanes of highway traffic to get a better look at the accident scene.

He says this puts tow trucks drivers and emergency responders at further risk and could end up causing another collision.
