The number of children registered for this year’s Snowflake Station Campaign is rising, and donations are still needed.
This is the 7th year for the toy and clothing drive, hosted by What Kids Need Moncton.
Founder Amanda Pooley says they have over 600 children registered so far and that’s an increase over previous years, “It seems to be going up very quickly this year as opposed to previous years. Last year was 811, the years before that was 719. That is why I am guessing between 900 and 1000 kids this year.”
Donations of new and gently used toys, books, and clothing can be dropped off at Tennis Moncton beside Centennial Park.
She says they are often lacking in donations for teens, “The teenagers seem to be the most difficult group. Teenage girls aren’t too bad because you have makeup and nail polish and hair stuff. Teenage boys seem to be a difficult group to get items for.”
There is still time to register, if you are in need this Christmas. The deadline is December 7th.
