The provincial and federal governments are investing to create a tourism hub in the centre of Alma.
$120, 000 in funding was announced yesterday from the Regional development Corporation, over $845, 000 through the ACOA Innovative Communities Fund and the Village of Alma is pitching in $120, 000.
The money will be used for several projects, including making improvements to the former Alma Consolidated School building, to enhance visitor information and community facilities. It will also go toward creating a multipurpose green space and parking lot.
Fundy Royal MP Alaina Lockhart says this investment will help to strengthen the local tourism infrastructure and that will help to attract more visitors, and increase tourist generated revenue in the region.
