Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Diagnosed With Cancer

More details are expected today after Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was diagnosed with a rare and fairly aggressive form of malignant tumour.

CTV is reporting that two biopsies were done, on the tumour found in Ford’s stomach. Doctors are optimistic about Ford’s treatment, as he will undergo chemotherapy.

He recently pulled out of the mayoral race due to health reasons.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued a statement saying he was deeply saddened by the diagnosis and wished him a speedy and complete recovery.

Ford has made headlines in the past after video recordings surfaced of the Mayor smoking crack cocaine. Ford entered rehab for substance abuse earlier this summer.
