Tighter Controls Needed On Spending In School Districts

Tighter controls are needed when it comes to the use of purchase cards in school districts. So says Provincial Auditor-General Kim MacPherson after her examination of the spending.

Even though she didn’t find widespread abuse, MacPherson points out there was inadequate documentation to explain the purchase of chocolates, iced coffee, flowers along with gifts for staff members and volunteers.
