The port of Saint John and the new Lorneville barge terminal are in a good position to be part of the tidal power project in Nova Scotia’s Minas Passage.
So says Provincial Minister of Energy and Resource Development Rick Doucet who believes the potential is limitless to be part of the supply chain.
The turbines are bigger and heavier this time around which worries the Bay of Fundy Inshore Fishermen’s Association. It’s concerned when the turbines get up and running, they will damage fish breeding in that part of the bay.
The fishermen are circulating a petition and trying to raise money for a possible legal challenge.
