Employees Needed As Businesses Prepare For Green

With the province getting ready to go green, businesses are preparing to lift restrictions and open their doors at full capacity.

President and CEO for the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick, Carol Alderdice, says many are struggling to find staff.

“A lot of the operators are having a really hard time for them to be able to open at full capacity. We are implementing our workforce development plan and we have a recruitment database to support them putting in their job postings,” Alderdice says.

She says the problem is there are a lot of competing companies looking to fill the same roles.

Alderdice adds the top two in need are housekeeping for hotels and cooks and servers for restaurants.

New Brunswickers will officially be at the green level, at 11:59 on Friday night.

The mandatory order will end and all COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted.
