Three Arrested In Drugs, Weapons Seizure

Several types of drugs, weapons and money have been seized by New Brunswick RCMP in connection with an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in Moncton.

During a traffic stop in Shediac on Thursday night, police arrested two men from Prince Edward Island, aged 45 and 53.

Officers later carried out a search warrant at a home on Olympic Crescent in Moncton.

During the search of both the vehicle and the home, police seized a large quantity of what are believed to be methamphetamine pills, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms as well as contraband cigarettes.

Police also seized an unsecured rifle, as well as another prohibited weapon, cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia which included digital scales.

A 28-year-old man from Moncton was arrested at the home without incident.

The three men have since been released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on April 6, 2022.

RCMP urge anyone with information about suspected illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood to contact their local police.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

Correction: RCMP corrected restricted assault weapon to an unsecured rifle.
