Shoppers are visiting a brand new Costco location today..
The new location on Granite Drive, off Elmwood Drive near the Trans Canada officially opened this morning.
Spokesperson Ron Damiani says this is a major expansion, “164,000 square feet which is 40, 000 more square feet than the Trinity Drive location. We had outgrown the former location many, many years ago, but we had to find the right location and we believe we have a great site.”
The new location also has the largest gas station in Eastern Canada.
Damiani says they increased their staff by 100 employees for this new location, bringing the total to 450.
The former Trinity Drive location closed its doors for the last time on Thursday night at 5pm.
