Thousands Attend 17th Annual Frye Festival

Atlantic Canada’s largest annual literary gathering was another stunning success again this year.

The 17th Frye Festival finished up yesterday after 8 days full of events, including writing workshops, readings, and book launches.

40 authors took part in the 65 events, some of which were one on one conversations with readers about their works.

Those authors also took part in 120 school visits in communities across the province including, Petitcodiac, Oromocto, and Cocagne.

That helps the Festival’s stated goal of encouraging youth to become readers and writers at a young age.

Approximately 16,000 festival goers attended the festival this year.

Next year’s festival is already being planned for the final week of April.
