This Hidden Moncton Restaurant Was Just Named One Of Canada’s Best… And Most People Walk Right Past It

Moncton has a hidden gem that just proved you don’t need to hop on a plane to Toronto or Montreal to experience one of the best restaurants in the country. Les Brumes du Coude was recently named one of the Top 100 Restaurants in Canada… and somehow it’s still tucked inside the Aberdeen Centre like the world’s best-kept foodie secret.

Seriously, if you didn’t know it was there, you’d probably walk right past it. There’s no giant flashy sign screaming for attention. It’s more of a “locals whisper about it like it’s a secret society” kind of place. And honestly? That makes it even cooler.

The vibe feels less “white tablecloth fine dining” and more “tiny European bistro you accidentally discover on vacation and talk about for the next five years.” Relaxed atmosphere, incredible service, and food that makes you pause mid-bite just to process what happened.

What makes this spot even more special is that around 90% of the menu is built using New Brunswick products. THAT is what supporting local looks like. Local ingredients, local talent, local passion… all coming together on plates that could compete anywhere in the country.

The Scallop Ceviche? Always unreal. The Beef Tartare? Ridiculously good. And the dangerous part is the menu changes almost weekly, so every visit feels like a new adventure for your taste buds. This week featured a Beef Cheek on Toast that honestly deserved its own standing ovation.

At the centre of it all is Michel Savoie, a chef who continues to prove that New Brunswick belongs in conversations about great food in Canada. No gimmicks. No unnecessary fuss. Just insanely well-executed dishes made with care.

And if you end up loving Les Brumes Du Coude, you’ll want to check out its sister restaurant too: Seve. Same attention to detail, incredible cocktails, and amazing small bites that make it way too easy to say, “Let’s just order one more thing.”

Places like this are exactly why supporting local matters. Behind every dish is a local farmer, fisher, producer, chef, server, and small business working together to create something special right here in New Brunswick.
