Lots of people spent some of the long weekend rolling up their sleeves to donate blood.
Peter MacDonald of Canadian Blood Services tells us a recent urgent appeal for donations went well but they always have a need.
“A lot of people don’t realize that blood is perishable and we need to continuously replenish the inventory and hospital patients and blood recipients don’t necessarily get the Easter weekend as a holiday,” says MacDonald.
While the Saint John clinic is closed today, clinics are open in Moncton and St. Stephen.
