The 42nd Parliament of Canada is officially open after the reading of the Speech from the Throne by Governor General David Johnston.
Prime Minister Trudeau and the Liberals saying as an immediate priority they will deliver a tax cut for the middle class.
The government also committing to undertake consultations on electoral reform saying they will not use government ads for partisan purposes or interfere with the work of parliamentary officers.
The Trudeau government will introduce new environmental assessment process where public input will be sought and considered and environmental impacts will be understood and minimized.
