The Role Of Parents In Helping Their Children Get Better Grades

Another school year is getting underway this week.

Educator Barbara Dianis, who has written the book “Grade Transformer for the Modern Student”, says parents have a role to play by taking an active interest in the work their children are doing in school without turning into helicopter parents and by creating a love of learning in the home.

Dianis says parents can make sure there’s a formalised homework and study time each school night and not wait too long if their child starts falling behind.

She adds if students are having fun learning then they will learn more and do better. She points out there are many interactive learning games online that students can play to reinforce their skills.
