A 29-year-old Calgary man is now in custody in connection with the deadly crash involving Humboldt Broncos hockey team bus in Saskatchewan.
Jazkirat Sidhu was the driver of the tractor-trailer that collided with the bus.
The Humboldt Broncos’ thank the RCMP for their work investigating the crash and determining what charges would be laid against the truck driver. Our organization has faith in the justice system and we will be watching closely as this court process plays out. #HumboldtStrong

RCMP Superintendent Derek Williams outlines the 29 charges that Sidhu is now facing.
“16 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and 13 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm are serious criminal code charges,” Williams says.
“In order to lay these charges, we required evidence a motor vehicle was being operated in a manner that is dangerous to the public”.
The crash in April killed 16 people, injured 13 others and two are still in the hospital.
