Premier Brian Gallant releasing a statement on the Ottawa tragedy.
He says he is shocked and saddened to learn that a member of the Canadian Forces has again been deliberately targeted and attacked this time in Ottawa.
Gallant goes on to say that we owe much to the brave men and women who protect our country and it is beyond belief that they are threatened here at home.
He says New Brunswick is a safe place to live, but it is important to remain vigilant against threats to our security.
He says our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of today’s shootings in Ottawa and of Monday’s events in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que and their famillies.
The Premier also says that their thoughts sare with parliamentarians, staff members on Parliament Hill and their families, and the people of Ottawa, as authorities continue to respond to this troubling incident.
