NDP Leader Jennifer McKenzie speaking in Saint John about workers’ rights.
McKenzie says they must address the working lives of the majority of New Brunswick workers who do not have union contracts.
“An NDP government will conduct a comprehensive review of employment standards. We will increase the coverage of employment standard legislation to dependant contractors and those that are not included in the currrent definition of an employee, like those who work as cleaners in buildings,” McKenzie says.
The NDP pledge to introduce paid sick leave for all employees and end the requirement for doctors to provides note for employees when they are sick.
At a campaign stop in Saint John, the NDP leader was asked about the Liberal promise to freeze some power rates for four years.
