The Moncton Transportation Museum Now Officially Open At Resurgo Place

The updated and revamped Moncton Transportation Museum is officially open at Resurgo Place.

The museum is an elegant design that evokes the history of Moncton as a transportation hub, with the outside resembling a cowcatcher from a train.

There were several dignitaries at the opening, including Mayor George Leblanc. He says the Museum is important because “the essence of our city throughout history is transportation and Moncton became known as the Hub of the Maritimes which it is, and continues to be one of our strengths.”

The Museum features interactive games for children as well as a collection of items demonstrating the diverse nature of Moncton’s transportation history.

One of the most stunning features of the new building is the original sandstone facade of the Town Hall which stands watch over the entrance to the gift shop. (Photo attached.)
