The Farmers’ Truck Launches First Online Farmers’ Market In Atlantic Canada

The Mobile Farmer’s Truck is launching the first online farmers’ market and delivery service in Atlantic Canada thereby “bringing the farm to you.”

Co-Founder Fred Laforge says it’s $25 per month membership and gives you access to locally produced food.

“You get to choose whatever you want, local bread, fruits and vegetables, meat, seafood, and other things that we craft locally and basically we deliver right at home,” says Laforge.

Laforge explains how it will work.

“We deal directly with the farmers, we ask customers to put their order in before Wednesday at noon, and then we contact the farmers, they harvest the next day, they ship the product on Friday or Saturday, we pack the boxes, and on Monday it’s delivered to your home,” says Laforge.

He believes their service will be especially beneficial for families and professionals whose schedules are busier than ever as well as for serniors and individuals with mobility issues.

One of The Farmer’s Truck farm partners brought six year old cow Eva to downtown Moncton to help launch their fundraiser.

This is Eva. She is adorable.

Laforge adds when you buy from them, 100% of the money goes back intot he provincial economy, whereas when you buy imported food, the amount of money remaining in New Brunswick is dramatically less.

To kickstart this new service, The Farmers’ Truck has launched an Indiegogo fundraiser campaign with a goal of $5,000, and the first 300 people to sign up will get exclusive perks with their membership.
