The Farmer’s Truck is doubling down on their success selling locally sourced farm produce by introducing a second truck this week.
Founder and CEO Fred Laforge says the plan is for this new truck to be the flagship of their business.
“We spent most of the winter designing a new truck with refrigerated displays, and a better shopping experience and all that, so we’re pretty excited about all that,” says Laforge.
He says the new truck has many benefits, including increased fuel efficiency, and a better chassis which means it’s an easier truck to drive.
“We’ve calculated we’ve got about 2.5 times more shelf space on the new truck, so it’s going to be a lot better to display products,” says Laforge. “And also to maintain certain temperatures for products that are more delicate like cheese and meats and stuff like that.”
Laforge says this year has started off even more successfully than it ended last year, with overwhelming support from the public.
