A special Lest We Forget event will be held in Moncton this year, promoting our proud military history and the contribution that has been made by men and women in Canada. It’s hoped everyone will pitch in and give.
Today the Text2Give campaign was launched as a part of Lest We Forget, an event being held in Moncton as a part of remembrance Day ceremonies. All of the funds from this texting campaign go to benefit the Military families Fund, the RCMP Foundation, the Cadet Youth Program and other programs that preserve the military heritage of the region.
Commanding Officer for the RCMP Roger Brown says after the events of June 4th last year, this is a chance for us to continue to move forward, “We’re fortunate to live in these cities, we’re fortunate to live in this province, and we’re fortunate to live in this country and we should never take it for granted.”
Chair of Mobile Giving Foundation Canada and former New Brunswick Premier Bernard Lord encourges everyone to give, “Let
us do this together to support the families and support this foundation that supports the families.”
Kevin Vickers, RCMP, veterans and family members will take part in the event that takes place at the Moncton Coliseum on November 10th and 11th.
If you would like to donate to the Text2Give campaign, cellphone users simply text the word COURAGE to 45678 and $20 will be added to your phone bill.
