Teen accused of stealing vehicle from Moncton dealership

A teen has been charged after a vehicle was stolen from inside an automotive dealership in Moncton.

RCMP said they received a report of a break-in and theft at the Main Street business on Wednesday.

The suspect allegedly broke a window to get inside the business, stole a vehicle and drove it through the garage door.

Several other vehicles on the dealership property were also intentionally damaged, said investigators.

“Early in the investigation, police were able to locate the stolen vehicle and disable it using technology made available to them,” RCMP said in a news release.

A 15-year-old youth was arrested on Salisbury Road without incident. Officers seized items used in connection with the break and enter from the vehicle.

The youth, who cannot be identified, is charged with break and enter, mischief under $5,000 and theft of a vehicle.

They were released from custody and are scheduled to return to court to enter a plea on Jan. 22.
