For the average Canadian family, today is when you start earning money for yourself.
The Fraser Institute reports this is Tax Freedom Day for the average Canadian family which means from January 1st until now, every dollar you earned went to the federal, provincial and municipal governments.
For people in New Brunswick, tax freedom day will fall on June 11th which places the province third from the bottom. Alberta is at the top where Tax Freedom Day fell on May 17th.
Tax Freedom Day in the U.S.this year was on April 24th.
