Take a Tour Tuesdays! – BGC Riverview

BGC Riverview has been helping kids around the community for several years. BGC Riverview is a nonprofit organization that places all their effort to ensure children and youth can grow within our community.

From their re-wild your child outdoor program to their teen drop-in programs they strive to help children of all ages thrive by providing a safe and supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities to become strong individuals within our community.

BGC Riverview touches over 1600 lives each year and are still growing day by day. BGC offers a number of programs to support kids in whatever they need. They have:

After School Care program – Provides a safe and licensed program made for children ages 5-12 where kids can play and learn after school.

Breakfast Program – Provide free breakfast at both Riverview Middle school and Riverview East school.

Lunch Program – Provide free lunches for Riverview middle school.

Re-wild your child – With several outdoor activities to get the kid out and off screens. Will spark some wild within your child.

Drop-in Teen program – A program for ages youth 11-17 to give them a place to relax and socialize. This program is meant to allow teens to build confidence, develop new interests and social skills. This program also offers free tutoring after school services!

NEW! First-Tee program – Starting up this summer there will be a program to give children and youth a chance to lean how to play golf! More details to come on the BGC website.

I could go on and on about all the support they provide for our community it is extremely incredible how much they give to the community but one program they highlight the most is their recycling program.

Have a few bottles piled up in the garage?

Why not give them to a good cause!

Within previous years BGC Riverview have worked up a matter of $3000 with this drive with their drop off locations at the Riverview Tire Services (330 Coverdale Road) and Old Time Meat Market  (711 Coverdale Road)  but ever since covid there has been a spike and within the last year BGC Riverview has made $35 000 with their recycling program where all the money goes towards the benefits of the kids!
