Sussex men arrested for break, enter and theft

Two men from Sussex have been arrested following a series of break-ins and thefts in the community.

Mounties say tools and equipment were stolen from three businesses in the Sussex Industrial Park in late January.

A 27-year-old and a 34-year-old were arrested in connection with the incidents on Jan. 31.

Officers later searched a property in Prosser Brook and recovered roughly $30,000 worth of stolen tools, construction equipment and an ATV police say was associated with property crimes throughout southeastern New Brunswick.

“Thanks to the high-quality video surveillance systems in place at these businesses, we were able to identify the suspects and make arrests in a timely manner during this investigation,” said RCMP Sgt. Kevin Glode.

The 27-year-old man has since been charged with two counts of break-in and theft. He was later released on bail with conditions of house arrest and electronic monitoring.

The second man was later released and will appear in court at a later date.
