The crime rate in Moncton has dropped and the Hub City had only one murder in 2016 making it one of Top 5 safest cities in Canada according to a new poll.
The Mainstreet Research survey says Moncton landed at number 4 in the top 15 this year and was number 3 last year.
St. John’s, Newfoundland and Charlottetown ranked higher while Ottawa was considered the most safe at number 1.
Western cities were generally found to be less safe and Winnipeg was considered the most unsafe city.
Toronto was second last on the list.
Mainstreet Research recently contacted more than 2,000 Canadians by phone.
