Let’s be real – Summer in Moncton is a beautiful rollercoaster, it’s usually either a billion degrees or raining sideways, zero in between. Here is a straightforward list of free things to do around town:
Centennial Park SuperSplash: Free entry to a massive, car-themed splash pad to cool off on hot days, and meet others in the community!
Coverdale Splash Pad: Free access to the outdoor water play area located right behind the Riverview Coverdale Centre.
Irishtown Nature Park: SOOOOOO underrated. This is one of my absolute favorite places to go for a walk, reconnect with nature, and clear my mind. It’s free access to heavily shaded, unpaved walking trails to escape the midday heat while still being outside.
Rotary St-Anselme Park: This is your one stop shop. It’s relaxing yet fun and has the most beautiful landscape. The park is gorgeous and full of ranging activities from splash pads to swing sets. There’s also an amazing well kept walking trail. I even like to set up my travel hammock in the trees, bring a book, some music, and I’m set for the day… highly recommend:)
Acoustica Concert Series: Free live music on Tuesday evenings at Victoria Park and Thursday evenings at Downtown Place.
Riverview Outdoor Pool: Free public swimming at the Lion Ken Gabbey Pool on Friday afternoons!!
YMCA Indoor Track: Free access to the climate-controlled indoor walking track at the YMCA North Moncton.
Dieppe Market: Free entry to walk around the indoor market stalls and hear live music on Saturdays.
Tidal Bore: Free viewing of the river reversing directions daily at Bore Park.
Casely Park Concerts: Free outdoor band music on Wednesday evenings at the park stage in Riverview.
There is just simply so much to do in Greater Moncton and I’ve only scratched the surface!! From 91.9 The Bend, to you, these are some highly recommended hot spots to keep this summer balanced and fun:)
