University students can face a variety of mental health issues including anxiety surrounding their studies or pressures from friends and family.
The Student Federation at the Universite de Moncton is reaching out to students who may need help.
Federation president Tristan Gaudet says students now have the opportunity to speak with a psychology student instead of a psychologist.
“Right there just meeting somebody that is a little closer to them. It makes it a little more relatable and it’s easier for them to get some help,” he notes.
Gaudet adds there is a lengthy waiting list to see a psychologist on campus so this service could be beneficial.
