A vote held last night has helped decide the future of St. Pat’s Family centre.
Around 50 members came to a meeting last night at the Moncton Lions Centre to vote yes or no to three offers.
The first, Heritage Properties, a second from Partenaire Dumont and the third from Bernard Cyr.
Over 40 of the members voted in favour of selling the facility to Heritage Properties for $1.97 million plus HST.
Heritage plans to incorporate St. Pat’s 2018 as a not for profit organization, elect a new Board of Directors, pay down the debt and also repair the building.
The building would also be leased back for the next 20 years, for $1 per year.
The building closed in July, and is in need of over one million dollars worth of repairs.
It could be another year before the doors to the centre will reopen, due to the work that needs to be done.
