It is no April Fools’ joke — an early spring storm could bring a messy mix of weather to the province on Wednesday.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for most of New Brunswick on Monday morning.
“A significant early spring storm will bring heavy rain and snow to parts of New Brunswick on Wednesday,” the statement read.

Meteorologist Jill Maepea says it looks like the precipitation should remain as rain in southern and eastern regions, including Moncton.
“Right now, rainfall amounts look to be around the 30-millimetre range,” said Maepea. “There could be slightly higher amounts in some of those localized areas.”
But Maepea said central and northeastern parts of the province could have to dig out from 20 to 30 centimetres of heavy, wet snow.
“The Acadian Peninsula down to Miramichi, Doaktown, Fredericton, and down to the southwest in the McAdam — that area looks like it will be in a band of the heaviest snow,” she said.
Maepea said there is still a lot of uncertainty and a slight change in the storm’s track could affect where that snow will fall.
She said the precipitation should push out of the province on Wednesday evening.
